Arta charms its visitors with the rivers of Louros and Arahthos, the beautiful swans and flamingos in the lagoons of Tsakalos and Logaros, and the endless orange groves. Many fir forests, canyons and gorges, stone villages and a rare biodiversity are what made Tzoumerka a protected national park. The area has many nests of wild birds, the Cave of Aneomoptera in Pramanda, the bridge of Plaka, which is the biggest arch stone bridge in Greece and many byzantine monasteries such as that of Kipina, built in 1212. There are also many outdoor activities available: climbing, archery and water rafting in the Arahthos river.

The town of Arta is built amphitheatrically on the ruins of ancient Amvrakia and is mostly known for its bridge, the Bridge of Arta which is popular for its legend. It is also worth visiting the castle which is an example of the byzantine building technique of the 13th century.
